484 SOHC “Cammer”–Powered Hi-Tech Motorsports Cobra Replica

This Hi Tech Cobra replica was assembled and acquired by the current owner in 2001, and work in 2008 included overhauling the 484ci “Cammer” SOHC V8. The high-compression engine was fitted with a forged rotating assembly, an LSM billet camshaft, and a Holley carburetor atop a dual-plane intake manifold, and the car is further equipped with a Tremec five-speed manual gearbox, 17″ Halibrand-style wheels, adjustable coilovers, and twin Holley fuel pumps. The metallic blue body has white stripes, a roll hoop, and black quick-jack bumperettes, while the cabin is outfitted with black leather bucket seats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and Stewart-Warner instrumentation. This Hi-Tech Motorsports Cobra replica is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean California title in the owner’s name describing the vehicle as a 1965 Cobra.

The seller states the metallic blue body is constructed from an outer fiberglass shell with an aluminum panels for the floor, trunk, and engine bay along with tubing within the doors, hood, and trunk frame. Elements include white stripes, a roll hoop, black-finished quick-jack bumperettes, wind wings, and a LeMans-style fuel filler. Scuffs on the underside of the front valance are displayed in the gallery. The photos were taken in November 2025, and the seller states that the car has traveled fewer than five miles since.

Polished Halibrand-style 17″ wheels are secured with safety-wired three-eared knockoffs, and they are mounted with 275/40 front and 345/40 rear Toyo Proxes tires. The car is equipped with a Speedway engineering sway bar, adjustable coilovers, and a Girling brake master cylinder.

The black leather bucket seats have Simpson latch-and-link harnesses, and black carpets line the floors. AC-logo pedals and a reverse-lockout shifter are also noted.

Two Holley fuel pumps and a pair of Optima batteries are installed in the trunk.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel wears an AC-logo center and fronts a suite of Stewart-Warner instrumentation, including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an ammeter, and supplementary displays. The odometer shows 25k miles.

The engine is a 427-based “Cammer” V8 that displaces ~484ci, according to the seller, who states the engine utilizes an iron FE block, a Scat forged crankshaft and H-beam rods, custom JE pistons, and Ford iron heads. The reported 12.8:1 compression ratio requires the use of race gas, and induction is handled by a Holley 750-cfm carburetor atop a Ford dual-plane intake manifold.

The seller notes that the engine was overhauled circa 2008, during which the following components were utilized:

  • LSM custom-grind billet camshaft

  • Milodon primary drive gear

  • High-volume oil pump

  • Replacement valves and guides

  • New timing chain and guides

  • MSD ignition components

  • Armstrong Race Engineering oil pan

The seller tells us the transmission is a Tremec five-speed unit.

The car is titled in California as a 1965 Cobra under the VIN AZ188828 as displayed on the Arizona assigned-VIN plate displayed above. The vehicle has not been inspected by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair.
