Our history & location
Our studio and showroom are located deep in the San Ramon Valley, set within the canyons on a decommissioned nuclear missile site. Surrounded by forest and hiking trails, the location offers a rare, quiet setting that elevates both the creative process and the vehicles we work with. The studio itself is purpose-built for cars, featuring controlled lighting and a clean, professional environment designed to showcase every detail.
JB Today Studios began as a father-and-son project rooted in storytelling. Long before cars became the focus, the work centered on photographing and filming marine wildlife and natural landscapes, building a patient, observant, and intentional approach behind the camera. That foundation continues to guide the studio’s work today.
Over time, it felt natural to bring that same mindset into the automotive world. Cars carry stories, character, and movement, and JB Today Studios is committed to capturing their craftsmanship, motion, and design with intention, so that every vehicle is seen exactly as it should be.
From the founder
I’m Jon Burgess, and my goal with JB Today Studios is simple: to help cars be seen, remembered, and appreciated. Every vehicle has a story— whether it’s a rare collector’s piece, a daily driver, or a custom build— I aim to bring that story to life through photography and video.
Working with clients, I focus on creating imagery that feels intentional and authentic, whether it’s for documenting a car’s history, producing content for social media, or preparing a vehicle for sale. I handle every step of the process personally, from planning the shoot to the final edits, so that every car is showcased at its best without adding stress for the owner.
Our studio and showroom provide a controlled environment where every detail can be highlighted, but I also love capturing cars in their natural surroundings—on winding roads, among the canyons, or within the unique landscapes of the Bay Area. My approach is about detail, precision, and making each vehicle look as compelling on camera as it feels to the person behind the wheel.
An automotive collective
JB Today Studios operates within a larger automotive ecosystem. We work closely with our partner company, Moto Visions, for vehicle repair, restoration, and preparation, and share our space with Dynamic Auto West, an authorized Superformance and Shelby dealer.
Together, this collective allows vehicles to be serviced, prepared, photographed, displayed, and sold all in one place.
