ZZ4-Powered 1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe Street Rod

This 1937 Chevrolet Business Coupe has been modified as a street rod with a dark red steel body mounted to a boxed frame with a Mustang II-style front suspension and a Corvette-style rear axle. It is powered by a ZZ4 350ci V8 linked with a TH350 three-speed automatic, and further equipment includes QA1 coilovers, Wilwood disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, 17″ Torq Thrust wheels, exhaust headers, and an Edelbrock carburetor, intake, and cylinder heads. Exterior elements consist of a split windshield, a polished grille, running boards, peep mirrors, and louvered engine covers, and the cabin is outfitted with beige leather upholstery, power-adjustable bucket seats, VDO instrumentation, a Kenwood receiver, a Lokar shifter, and air conditioning. This Business Coupe street rod is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with service records and a clean California title in the current owner’s name.

The car was repainted in the current shade of dark red in November 2025, and the seller notes that the vehicle has an all-steel body. Styling elements include a split windshield, a polished vertical-bar grille, a hood ornament, peep mirrors, a louvered engine cover, modern headlights, running boards, and chrome bumpers.

Polished American Racing 17″ Torq Thrust wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Advantage Control tires. Braking is handled by red Wilwood calipers over slotted/drilled rotors at all four corners.

The Mustang II-style independent front suspension is said to have been provided by Fat Man Fabrication, and it has tubular A-arms, rack-and-pinion steering, and adjustable QA1 coilovers. A composite transverse leaf spring is equipped on the Corvette-style independent rear suspension. Steering repairs were completed in January 2026, and a loose universal joint was remedied.

The power-adjustable bucket seats are trimmed in beige leather and are joined by color-keyed carpets and quilted door panels with billet handles. A Lokar shifter sits in the custom center console, and further appointments include air conditioning, bowtie floor mats, a Kenwood receiver, and aftermarket speakers in the kick panels.

The billet aluminum steering wheel sits on a chrome tilting column ahead of VDO white-dial instrumentation. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles, approximately 350 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The ZZ4 350ci crate V8 is equipped with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, intake manifold, and cylinder heads along with finned valve covers and HEI-style ignition. Work in January 2026 included replacing the thermostat, alternator, and gaskets for the intake manifold and valve covers.

The TH350 three-speed automatic transmission is equipped with a finned aluminum pan, and it routes power to a Corvette-specification independent rear axle. The car has a boxed frame, per the seller. Four-into-one headers feed a dual exhaust system and Flowmaster mufflers.
